The aim of the study is to use an accelerated vaccination dosing chedule for Hepatitis A and B in patients with chronic Hepatitis C and compare their response to healthy patients vaccinated in exactly the same way. The vaccine that we will be using is a combination vaccine, which means it protects against both types of Hepatitis A and B viruses. The idea behind this project is our belief that the response in Hepatitis C is somewhat impaired and not as effective as in healthy people. We want to find out whether this accelerated vaccination schedule can improve the response to these vaccines. In addition we want to find out if this vaccination schedule can be used to rapidly vaccinate populations who are constantly migrating, such as that of the Texas American border.
