This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The Hematopoietic Stem Cell Facility is part of the NCI Case Western Reserve University Comprehensive Cancer Center. This protocol is established for obtaining blood and bone marrow samples from normal donors and patients under a wide variety of research programs at CWRU including, for the most part, the CWRU Cancer Center members and their related protocols. The bone marrow aspirations done on normal donors are conducted on the GCRC. The hematopoietic stem cell facility serves as the reference laboratory for the clinical bone marrow transplant program at University Hospitals of Cleveland. The cells are used for a wide variety of research efforts.
