Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Plan to 1) describe the pattern of glucose intolerance that emerges during pubertal maturation in individuals at risk for PCOS with and without associated glucose intolerance and 2) evaluate the cellular intermediates in the transduction of the insulin signal for abnormalities that contribute to the insulin resistance observed in these individuals.
