Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.This study is to: Determine the dose related safety of an inactivated, cell-culture grown whole virus influenza A/H5N1 vaccine with or without aluminum hydroxide adjuvant in healthy adults, Determine the potential for aluminum hydroxide to enhance the immune response to inactivated whole virus H5N1 vaccine in healthy adults approximately 1 month following receipt of 2 doses of vaccine, & Provide information for the selection of the best dosage level for further studies.
