This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The goal of this study is to collect blood samples and clinical data from patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and related disorders for submission to a DNA repository. Samples will also be collected from healthy volunteers, including spouses, siblings of spouses, and spouses of siblings of participating PD and parkinsonism patients. The DNA samples in the repository will be available for research into the genetics and epidemiology of PD and related disorders. Patient participation requires a one-time blood draw and permission to extract data from the patient's medical record. This banked DNA and clinical data will be available for future research into the genetic aspects of this disorder.
