This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The GCRC nurses are asked to check vital signs pre-bone marrow aspiration, educate the patient about the procedure and check vital signs post procedure. The cells obtained from the bone marrow aspiration will bed used to study hematopoietic stem cell characteristics of multipotent adult mesenchymal stem cells. The samples will be obtained in the GCRC. All other manimpulations will be done in Dr. Verfaille's lab.
