Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. Study the effect of fibrate and thiazolidinedione on aspects of insulin sensitivity and lipid metabolism in subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The discovery of a synergistic effect would be of considerable importance in the development of strategies for the management of subjects with insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
