This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.This is an observational study of PD subjects who have previously participated in the PRECEPT (HS 2002-2395) study. The PRECEPT study enrolled 802 subjects at 65 centers in the UC and Canada is the largest group of subjects with Parkinson's disease (PD) ever studied. The purpose of this study is to collect ongoing information about the natural history and development of PD and to determine if there are early markers of the disease. Yearly visits will be conducted to collect information by evaluating the subjects and reviewing their general health and neurological status. Blood samples will be collected for future research studies aimed at diagnosing PD earlier and predicting future progress of the illness, delaying the onset of the disease or slowing the progression of PD. Subjects will be asked to consent to be contacted for other studies concerning PD.
