Abstract

Determine 1) the relationship between sleep stage and growth hormone secretion in acromegaly; 2) whether spontaneous pulsatile and growth hormone releasing peptide stimulated GH secretion is normal for age when acromegalics are in remission; and 3) whether predictors for recurrence can be identified from these results. Blood sampling at 5 minute intervals for 24 hours (with sleep monitoring) and a GHRP test will be performed in acromegalic patients before and after treatment.
