SPECIFIC AIMS : To demonstrate in a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial whether chronic valproate therapy delays the emergence of agitation and/or psychosis in outpatients with probable Alzheimer's disease (AD) who have not experienced agitation and psychosis in their illness.
