Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this study is: 1) To determine a range of normal values for 24-hour urine MA in healthy children. 2) To determine a range of normal values for 24-hour urine MA in children with diabetes. 3) To determine if there is an orthostatic variation in MA excretion. 4) To determine the correlation between 24-hour MA/Cr ratios and first a.m. spot urine MA/Cr level.
