The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Prevention of hyperoxia may decrease the risk for ROP and CLD, efforts to maintain lower oxygenation levels may result in an increase in periods of hypoxemia because of the marked variability in oxygen in ELBW infants. Thus, it is necessary to determine if lower oxygenation levels that may prevent ROP and CLD are deleterious for brain development and result in neurologic outcome.
