This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.We are studying the extent of growth hormone suppression n healthy girls and boys, ages 9-17 years of age, following an oral glucose load, in a study involving a single visit. This will help establish normative data for growth hormone suppression in healthy children and will aid in the diagnosis of conditions of GH excess. Standards for growth hormone suppression do not currently exist for children.
