This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of specific polymorphisms in genes associated with the pathogenesis or pathophysiology of dystonia on the phenotype of focal dystonias, as measured by clinical exam, brain imaging studies and response to botulinum toxin injections. Anticipated enrollment is 360 participants: 160 participants who have focal dystonia and 200 healthy control participants.
