Patients with spinal cord injury and myelomeningocele comprise the largest group of patients who suffer from neuropathic voiding dysfunction. Improper emptying of the bladder associated with high voiding pressures and urinary residuals can result in recurrent urinary tract infections, urosepsis and deterioration of renal function.
