This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this study is to examine the narrowing of vein bypass grafts. Evidence suggests that the development of blockages in blood vessels may be linked to abnormalities in the body's regulation of sugar and markers of inflammation that circulate in the blood. This protocol will be studying if these markers are related to changes that occur in the bypass graft after surgery. Ultrasound studies and/or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the vein graft over time will help the investigator understand the factors that cause some vein grafts to re-narrow.
