Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.This study is closed to accrual.(from www.cancer.gov website)Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide and irinotecan, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells.This Phase II trial is studying how well radiation therapy, temozolomide, and irinotecan work in reating patients with newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme.
