The specific aim i s to examine androgen receptor polymorphisms that have been associated with increased risk of osteoporosis and bone fracture. The hypothesis driving this proposal is that the androgen receptor genes of ethnic East Asian Indians will encode a protein with larger numbers of glutamine residues than other groups.
