This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.This is a prospective, observational cohort study to evaluate if infants with hemangioma treated with high-dose glucocorticoids will have impaired statural growth with or without decreased bone mineral accretion. The outcome variables will be changes in height, weight, head circumference, annualized height velocity and changes in lumbar spine bone mineral density. Plan is to enroll 12 infants with hemangioma treated with glucocorticoids. They will be compared with control hemangioma patients not treated with glucocorticoids.
