The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.This study is to learn about how being overweight affects your health. Because the metabolic syndrome is more prevalent in African American and Hispanic youth, the hypothesis here is that increased production of several fat-derived peptides in obese minority adolescents is associated with hypertension (or elimination of early nocurturnal 'dip'), impaired OGTT and microalbuminurias. Study design: 80 subjects half female, half early puberty, half obese will be studied over three visits each.
