This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.The purpose of the Einstein Bariatric Surgery Pilot Study is to prospectively study the effects of bariatric surgery on fertililty, bone turnover, atherosclerosis and inflammatory cyotkines. We will recruit and follow 40 participants from just before bariatric surgery (laprascopic gastric banding, Roux En Y Gastric Bypass and sleeve gastrectomy) to six month postoperatively.
