The Administrative Core has the responsibility for effective coordination, monitoring, andevaluation that are central to the success of the Center. An essential part of the coordinating role is supporting, stimulating and reinforcing interdisciplinary learning and collaboration in Cancer Communication Researchamong its participants. This will be a central mark of its success. Its Executive Committee, which providescontinuing oversight, is made up of the Pis of the individual projects and cores; half of its members are fromAnnenberg and half from the School of Medicine. All are also members of the Abramson Cancer Center.Achieving most of the specific aims of the Administrative Core would be beyond the resources and thepurposes of the individual projects and the other Cores. In addition to its coordinating, monitoring andevaluation role, the Administrative Core will have primary operational responsibility for one independentcomponent of the Center: the Developmental Research Program (presented in a separate section), and willactively support and coordinate the dissemination efforts of the Translation to Practice Core.
