This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Dr. Ainsworth, Director of the Research Resources Core, has assisted faculty with responsibility for the two sub-cores, i.e., Animal and Biostatistics Sub-Cores. Each sub-core has provided an abstract of activities for year 4 of the grant. Personnel are in place and are assisting with animal experimentation or husbandry issues or statistical designs and methods. Sub-core directors are tracking use of their respective sub-cores for documentation of the importance of the sub-core to the COBRE and other biomedical research being conducted. This core also is responsible for purchasing instrumentation and for service contracts.
