This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The administrative core is composed of the principle investigator, biostatistical support, core administrator, administrative support, new faculty hires, core facilities, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students. The administrative core is responsible for faculty development and monitoring progress of the subprojects, overseeing hiring of new faculty, oversight of research support cores, purchase of major instrumentation, alterations and renovations and external review. The administrative core communicates with the external advisory committee (EAC), organizes two meetings with the EAC each year and working with the EAC implements their recommendations to help develop the faculty and core facilities in order to achieve the goals of the COBRE program. In addition, the core organizes the day-to-day operation of the center, coordinates all purchases and travel for the COBRE investigators. The core coordinates and implements the mentoring of the faculty and meetings between faculty with mentors. The core is also responsible for all reporting and communication to the NIH.
