This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Introduction: The Administrative Core provides fiscal management and general oversight for the entire COBRE. Methods: The Core provides fiscal support for: mentors, all activities that promote scientific growth, new clinical and basic science junior faculty recruitment, and renovations. Results: The following are the results for year 4. The Core provided laboratory fiscal support for all mentors, provided bi-monthly budget reports for each project, coordinated hiring and the purchase of equipment and supplies for each project, coordinated all COBRE programs, and initiated the major laboratory renovation plans that were delayed as a result of Hurricane Katrina. The COBRE continued to receive high marks from the External Advisory Committee (EAC) and the internal advisory committee (IAC). Discussion: The Center of Excellence in Oral and Craniofacial Biology continues to be enhanced by the COBRE. The COBRE has been the glue that kept the research enterprise at the LSU School of Dentistry together as the school continues to recover from Hurricane Katrina.
