This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The Microarray core facility utilizes the Affymetrix GeneChip 2500 system that includes Hybridization Station 640, Fluidics Station 400 and Scanner 2500. An Agilant bioanalyzer 2100 is also available for RNA analysis. GeneChip expression analysis probe arrays are purchased from Affymetrix. The microarray core is also equipped with a variety of tools for data analysis, networking and database management. Data are analyzed using the Microarray Suite, DMT, Micro DB, GeneSpring and Gene Sifter software packages. The Microarray Core provides RNA expression-profiling services including quality testing of RNA, hybridization to GeneChip probe arrays, image processing, primary data analysis, data delivery, and access to Biomformatics tools, which are managed by the Bioinformatics Core. User support is available for target preparation and data analysis using various software packages. The Bioinformatics core facility provides support with a Unix system administrator and two programmers.
