Public Health Relevance

The following is a summary of the project to be submitted as a part of the application for the Research supplement to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research. The proposed research project is a qualitative study asking African American parents/caregivers with AA preschool age children their beliefs and practices regarding, health, diet, and physical activity. In addition, discussing how AA culture and environment may play a role in their diet, their ability to get physical activity and how they what is a healthy weight, as well as input on what a program to help obese/overweight preschoolers would look like.
