The goal of the Administrative Core is to support the Environmental Health Sciences ResearchCenter in achieving its vision and goals by coordination, integration and assessment of Centercomponents, budgets and activities. The Administrative Core is responsible for budgeting, leveraginginstitutional support, center membership, monitoring scholarly productivity of members, annual reports,grant renewals, and the quarterly newsletter as well as the Pilot Grant Program. The Administrative Core iscomposed of the Director, the Deputy and Associate Directors, the Pilot Grant Program Director, the CenterCoordinator, and the Center Administrator. This governance also includes an Internal Advisory Committee(composed of EHSRC Administrators, Research Cluster and Facility directors and co-directors. COECDirector) an External Advisory Committee composed of six senior environmental health scientists withscientific expertise relevant to the EHSRC and administrative experience comparable to directing a centerof research excellence (see Figure 6.1). Daily operation of the EHSRC is managed by the Director, CenterCoordinator, and Center Administrator.
