Administrative ArrangementsQualifications of the Principal Investigator. David Williams has been on theRochester faculty since 1981 and has been funded continuously by NEI for more than 25 years. He has extensive administrative experience, having served as Associate Director of CVS from1987-1991 and as Director for the past 16 years. From 1988-90, Williams was a member ofNEI's Vision Research Review Committee, the standing study section that formerly reviewedNEI Core Grants. From 2000-2007, he served as Associate Director of the Center for AdaptiveOptics (CfAO), an NSF Science and Technology Center that brings together vision scientistsand astronomers from 12 institutions to develop adaptive optics technology.
