This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. We have developed a new method to accurately quantitate changes in phosphorylation at particular sites in proteins isolated from mouse brain (see project 216). We have determined the sites of phosphorylation of the regulator of calmodulin signaling (RCS, also known as ARPP21)in mice, and have used our new technique to quantitate the levels of phosphorylation on these sites as a function of treatment with cocaine and other psychostimulants.
