This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Our objective is to quantify blood flow dynamics during functional activation of the brain. Currently, Dr. Frostig's lab uses intrinsic signal imaging to quantify hemodynamics. This modality does not separate oxygen saturation dynamics from blood flow dynamics. We will use laser speckle imaging to isolate the blood flow dynamics from the bulk hemodynamics.
