Abstract

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This project on the synthesis and 2D-IR spectra of isotopically substituted heptaproline peptide is underway. One of our objectives of this project is the analysis of structures and equilibrium dynamics of polyproline, for which this structure is a mimic. This work will be in continuation of and in contrast to our 2D IR experiments on alpha-helix and beta-sheet structural motives.
