This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.13C HSQC data must be collected for improved structural calculations and to look for structurally significant heteronuclear NOEs, specifically that between the alpha and/or beta carbons of the two cysteines involved in a putative disulfide bond. We have four peptides which need to be thus examined.Collection of natural abundance 13C HSQC data on 2000 KDa peptides derived from the N and C termini of brazzein for assignment of backbone resonances and calculation of backbone torsion angles with TALOS, for the purpose of adding more constraints to CYANA caluclations of the structure of said peptides. Structural comparisons of the peptides with the corresponding regions of full-length brazzein protein can then be made.
