This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The Laboratory disseminates information to the public though a semiannual newletter and website. The newsletter entitled 'The Spectrograph' describes research activities of the Laser Biomedical Research Center (LBRC) and is published periodically with distribution to about 1000 researchers across the country. 'The Spectrograph' features research reports, special activities, seminar/workshop details and publications from the Center. During the current grant period, two issues of 'The Spectrograph', Volume 22, numbers 1&2 are published and in these issues, articles in biomedicine include 'Tomographic phase microscopy' and 'NSF support for novel phase microscopy'. Also included are details of awards received by the faculty, current projects/publications of the LBRC along with information on the Lord lecturer. The LBRC moved to its new space organized to the current needs of laser biomedical research special facilities to handle biological materials and chemical preparation are now integral part of new space. The Spectroscopy Laboratory also maintains a website that provides information about research projects and upcoming events.
