This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. NMR spectroscopy was performed on a sample of oxidized lysoPE and lysoPE standard which were dissolved in 2:1 CDCl3-CD3OD. 1-D Proton and 2-D gradient COSY spectra were recorded on a Varian Inova 500 MHz instrument at 25 C. GC/MS detection of acylglycerol components in chloroform-methanol extract was performed. Half of the supplied sample was pertrimethylsilylated by treatment with Tri-Sil (Pierce) at 80 C for 20 min and analyzed by CI-GC/MS using an Agilent 6890N GC (Supelco DB-1, 30 m x 0.25 mm ID) interfaced with a 5973 MSD with ammonia as ionizing gas.
