This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing theresources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed isfor the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.Goal #1 Validate the in-vivo hypoxia marker Cu(64)-ATSM in tumors using the calibrated hypoxia marker EF5. The two markers are to be compared concerning their distribution and their amount in the tumor, using microPET and immunohistochemistry.Goal #2 Compare the signal of blood-oxygen-level-dependent imaging (BOLD), as determined with MRI, with the signal of Cu(64)-ATSM-PET. Goal #3 Compare the in-vivo uptake of (18)FDG with the distribution of glucose in the tumor, as measured by imaging bioluminescence in cryosections of tumors.
