VMD utilizes advanced hardware technologies including stereoscopic displays, six-degree-of-freedom input devices with haptic feedback, multiprocessor and clustered rendering systems, OpenGL, programmable shading, 64-bit addressing, multi-core processors, and GPU-accelerated computation.
