This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Keywords: Glutamate receptor, MD, tetramer. Abstract: Ligand-gated Glutamate Receptor (GluR) ion channels mediate synaptic signals in the nervous system. The channel opens upon finding of the glutamate to the ligand binding domains. We already analyzed the structure of single binding domain. Now we are going to simulate the tetrameric structure when four subunits are assembled to form extracellular part of the ion channel.
