This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. We have several projects that have resulted in formation of crystals that are small or that diffract very poorly on our home source. These include six different proteins (or domains thereof) or protein/ligand complexes that are important for DNA replication, recombination, and repair. We are seeking time on the BioCARS fixed wavelenght beamline to assess diffraction charateristics of several of these and to collect a medium resolution (~5 angstroms) data set of another.
