The subproject andinvestigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. This transcription involves at least three proteins: Swi4, Swi6 and Whi5. Whi5 is a repressor that is removed from the complex by Cln3/Cdk phosphorylation. However, there is evidence that S/TP sites in Swi6 are also critical for either removing Whi5 or neutralizing its repressing function. We would like to know if any or all of these sites are phosphorylated in vivo.
