Uses functional neuroimaging to evaluate neural systems involved in working memory and their relation to the development of schizophrenia and impairments in social functioning in adolescents at risk; evaluates a parallel group of first-episode schizophrenic patients with the same procedures to determine how memory systems functioning changes during the first episode of psychosis in relation to symptom recovery following treatment and to changes in social functioning.
