This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. In this subproject we aim to examine and implement methods for multimodality integration of diffuse optical tomography (DOT) and fMRI. Our work in the previous year focused on validation of the temporal and spatial correlation between the DOT measure of deoxyhemoglobin and fMRI BOLD (blood oxygen level dependent) signal as well as between blood volume and flow as measured by DOT and fMRI-ASL (arterial spin labeling).
