This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This project in collaboration with Byron Ford, PhD, of Morehouse School of Medicine examines the effects of manipulating the neuregulin (NRG) system within the amygdala. We have used a floxed NRG mouse with a Lentivirus producing Cre as well as a lentivirus that produces a dominant-negative ErbB4 in wild-type mice to examine Neuregulin functioning and ErbB4 receptor functioning in amygdala.
