In monkeys, long-term auditory memories are very hard to form, so this project will enable us to better understand whether auditory memory is a unique human specialization.During this past year we worked on developing a testing paradigm for addressing auditory matching in chimpanzees which proved much more difficult than anticipated. We completed a testing paradigm that will be used for future training.
