This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This is a new one year grant to examine whether an intranasal dose of oxytocin enters the primate CNS. We have measured CSF and plasma at 3 time points before and after intranasal and intravenous administrations of oxytocin in anesthetized monkeys. At the end of the data collection period, the samples will be assayed and levels of oxytocin measured. The budget period for this grant ended 10/31/09.
