In this proposal we request support for the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory summer course in Advanced Bacterial Genetics. The purpose of this course is to provide students with a background in bacterial and phage genetics combined with advanced molecular cloning projects in their own research laboratories on their particular experimental systems. Proper use of cloning technology requires application of genetic thinking. This course is unique in providing instruction in both genetics and cloning technology.
