. The possible transmission of infectious agents to the eye through contact, emphasizes the need for disinfection methods for contact ocular instruments. Our goal is to develop a disinfection system for these devices, specifically the Applanation Tonometer, which will be effective, practical, fast, non toxic and clinically highly compliant. This electronic disinfection system will have informative status message to the user.Eventually this method can be expanded to disinfect other non metallic instruments.
