Public Health Relevance

Mood and anxiety disorders are the most common of all psychiatric disorders and are associated with very significant morbidity and mortality. The primary goal of this Center is to accelerate the development of novel drugs for the treatment of depression and anxiety. The Administrative Core will 1) serve the administrative requirements of all of the individual Research Projects and the other Core Unit and 2) Focus and integrate the distributed research performed by individual projects comprising the Center and communicate with GSK and NIMH program staff on scientific progress in each of the research projects.
