Specific aims1. To adapt an instrument to evaluate the cultural competence related to People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in a cohort of students of the healthcare field in Puerto Rico.2. To adapt an instrument to evaluate the social stigma related to People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) in a cohort of students of the healthcare field in Puerto Rico.3. To design a culturally adapted survey that will determine the cultural competence and HIV-related stigma among healthcare professionals.This study was approved by the MSC IRB in June 2007 and will begin its recruitment during the next months. A collaborative research team consisting of junior faculty and graduate students from the UPR School of Dentistry and the Ponce School of Medicine Program of Clinical Psychology has been working to develop the proposal and are ready to implement it during the next year.
