This project is a collaborative effort with the network team in CSL. It is intended to apply appropriate modern software technology to evaluate problems anticipated in using the NIH computer network and to suggest corrective action. The targeted user of the resulting software package is a network technician. At present, the project team is using several languages and expert system shells to determine the optimum environment for producing if-then rules that will encapsulate diagnostic and repair procedures. Quick prototyping techniques applied to scenarios provided by the network team are being used to deliver interface design feedback to potential system users.
